"Dining with one's friends and beloved family is certainly one of life's primal and most innocent delights, one that is both soul-satisfying and eternal." - Julia Child

A formal 7-course dinner invitation. One of our dear friends, Princes volunteered to exhibit her culinary prowess for an evening of style and excellent food. Gail offered her place and kitchen (you might have seen her in previous themed party posts - Mexican Fiesta and 80's Party ).
How lovely is this? Event styling inspired by FFS, Food+Flower+Style suspending white ranunculus up in the air with candles on clear nylon wires or using crimped thin Inox holding each transparent tube.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
XOXO,

We threw a Parisian themed baby shower for a dear friend, Shela last weekend. The party preparations started several weeks prior to the event. The mother-to-be has a gift for graphic design, so imagine her enthusiasm when she went hands-on in designing water bottle labels, onesie banners, blog site, gift box logos, save the dates and invites for the party. She has an eye for small details. I, on the other hand, had a great time getting all the stuff together, buying decorations and transforming a 2-bedroom apartment into a baby shower suite for the weekend with the help of friends and family.
A Mexican themed brunch that extends till dinner. It's a monthly tradition my girlfriends and I have started this year. Each of us will bring a dish we have prepared. The venue changes each month. We somehow recreate a vacation where we bring a country to our homes instead.
The host of the party, Gail decorated her dining and living area with colorful tissue paper streamers and lanterns made of serviettes. A separate refreshment table was set up with our favorite lime margarita and an ice filled bucket of drinks.
Salt edged glasses dyed in food coloring that made our lips blue added to more fun. Latin music was constantly playing in the background greeting the guests at the door. A Mexican party is never complete without the mango salsa salad.

The mouth watering fajitas, chili con carne and enchiladas drew the guests towards the table.
In light of today's Friendship Day, I'm happy to feature our wonderful Saturday brunch together. We all met during our employment in an events and exhibition company. We were former colleagues from various departments, but most of us have only grown closer after we left the firm. We have all pursued different paths afterwards. The day breezed by with mojitos and lively conversations among hyper women enjoying a fun day away from the mundane.
These beautiful women could be serious, wacky and crazy sometimes, with or without the microphone. We are always ready to strike a pose.

Hope you all had a great weekend!
I surely had a wonderful one!

Wedding ideas for the bride to be. It's summer and it's perfect for a garden wedding in the countryside. I happen to come across this beautiful article from Maison & Deco .
One of the things I love about this garden wedding style is it's laid back. Rustic. Great for DIY too. I can imagine guests tranquilly enjoying the small feast. White stood out from the greens. White plates and macaron tray. White wedding cake against and white linen. Beige and cream lanterns softened the metal work.

The metallic trellis created a floral canopy that just turned an already pretty garden into something magical.
A perfect setting for an intimate affair and a marriage between friends.

Too bad we're not decorating this year. It is a busy December for me and life is transitioning for the better. We're not moving nor celebrating Christmas outside the gulf. In fact, the two of us are staying home most probably during Eve.
To satiate my senses, I found these neutral color scheme to feast upon at least online.

At the most I'd be hanging a wreath outside the door. It doesn't mean my heart will not celebrate my favorite season. I will most definitely. The external decoration at the moment is not necessary. I'm happy I have sufficient spirit to celebrate the holidays. And who knows, we might change our mind and head out to France to celebrate the season. :)

As photos of friends clad in costumes streaming on my news feed with lots and lots of fabulous Halloween parties this weekend, I can't help wishing I could celebrate it with them. Nevertheless, allow me to greet you all a Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Weekend Gourmands!
It was my birthday last 4th of July. I'm posting this beautiful hanging candles setting from Everything Fab for that festive spirit. The hubby surprised me with a bouquet of flowers and chocolates. I opted to spend the evening after work at a friend's place for a quiet dinner and a movie. Perhaps a lunch party this weekend is not such a bad idea to continue the celebration.
How was your 4th of July weekend?
